‘It is with heavy hearts that we inform you that Headteacher, Katie Cook, will be leaving Siddington school at the end of this academic year. Katie Cook has been offered a fantastic new role to become the Headteacher at Oliver Tomkins C of E Primary School in Swindon. She will take up this new position in September 2023.’ Claire Ladwa, Chair of Governors

Katie Cook joined The Corinium Education Trust as Headteacher of Siddington C of E Primary School in September 2020. Because of the pandemic and the preventative measures in place, this was a challenging time for all school leaders, but especially for new headteachers. However, Mrs Cook quickly established herself and focused on the learning and wellbeing of children at all times. She has consistently worked closely with staff and governors to manage change and bring about improvements.

‘It has been a privilege to be the Headteacher of Siddington and I have appreciated the guidance given by the Corinium Education Trust in my first Headship. I would also like to thank the school governors and staff for their support.  I am grateful for the opportunities I have had since being appointed and hope that I have had a positive impact on the Siddington pupils and their families.’ Katie Cook, Headteacher

The progress Siddington C of E Primary School has made under Katie Cook’s leadership was reflected in the positive outcomes pupils achieved in 2022 and is captured in the school’s Ofsted report which described it as a ‘thriving community’ and commended the ‘dedication of the headteacher’ and her ‘high expectations’ (July 2022). Katie Cook and the wider school team, including governors, are not complacent and will continue to work together for the remainder of this academic year to ensure all pupils know, understand and can do more!

‘While we will be very sorry to lose Katie Cook to another school in the autumn, we are very grateful to her for the commitment she has made to Siddington C of E Primary School over the last 3 years and we are proud of the way in which we have contributed to her professional development which has enabled her to take this next step and wish her every success in the future.’ Chiquita Henson, Trust Lead (CEO)

Following Katie Cook’s news, we are looking forward to recruiting new headteacher for Siddington C of E Primary School from September 2023. Find out more...
